James Speck

James Speck, an American animation artists based in Singapore for the past 12 years has worked extensively in the commercial world. In 1994 Mr. Speck founded Cowboy Water Designs specializing in 3D computer animation: In 2001 he won the Asian Television Award for Most Innovative Show for his ground breaking 3D animated series "Lili" for the MTV Asian Network.
For the exhibition Kuo Chuan lifestyles, Mr Speck will present animated images from Time Cycles, a project which 'pushed the boundaries of digital printing while exploring the realms of computer animation as a pure fine art form.' Based on a series of nine paintings from the "The Book of Hours" by Indian painter Parvathi Nayar, the work was orginally shown at Alliance Francaise in Singapore in 2002.
