Zen Table


The stone for this table was discovered in an abandon quarry. It was cut and drilled to order by a local stonemason. The wood is recycled packing crates donated by RJ Paper, a company dedicated to the distribution of recycled and renewable papers.

Black lines are the result of burning before lamination, using propane donated by B. Jane Cowie's glass studio once tank pressure dropped below acceptable furnace strength.

Inspired by Japanese Zen garden design, the top appears to hover in mid air with no visible means of support.
